Balochistan Assembly opposes Sonmiani

port at Sonmiani had affected work at the
Gwadar port, adding that multi-national
companies had stopped investing there.

The Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC)
on Tuesday approved Rs 750 million for construction
of Gwadar International Airport and Rs 1.357
billion for converting 29 troubled districts
of Balochistan into peaceful “A”
areas.

would also be achieved by initiating projects
like establishment of a free trade zone,
oil city and its connectivity with the country
as well as with the region, he said.
He said
that with the development of the port of
Gwadar, the idea of energy corridor will
gain further strength and that port city
will transform into the most convenient
location for setting up refineries, LNG
plants and mega-storage facilities.
